What Type of Food Should I Feed My Puppy?
You may be asking yourself "What type of food should I feed my puppy?" Its not a right or wrong choice. Kind of like to eat a banana or orange for breakfast, neither one is wrong, just different. You do need to feed for their age and breed.
For your puppy's 1st year he should be on puppy food. She needs twice as many calories than what in adult food.
We are currently feeding Purina Puppy Chow after trials on other types of food. We are liking how the dogs do on it and will be continuing on it.
Your puppy will come home with a bag of Purina Puppy Chow. If you decide to change what your puppy is eating, mix it half and half (old + new). Puppies have sensitive stomachs and changing it over without mixing can make your puppy sick.
More important than which brand, ect.... Is how does YOUR dog do on it? What works for one dog may not work as well for another.
My vet has recommended to stay away from the grain free foods (unless your dog has a proven allergy, in which case you need to weigh the pros vs. cons)
Always be careful of "fad diets".
